COVID-19/Corona Virus Update

In response to CDC guidelines, the following practices are being implemented within our practice:

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, Madison Avenue Psychological Services has coordinated with our insurance and EAP companies to provide telephone sessions for our current and most new patients. If you are an existing patient, and are self-quarantining or do want to be exposed to others in the office, you do not need to cancel your appointment. You can have your session by phone. We are working with our insurance/EAP providers and telehealth vendors to provide video sessions as soon as possible.  Please contact your provider if you wish to change your appointment to a phone session (video will be available as soon as we are able to securely work out details and regulations).

For all new patients (excluding Tricare and Medicare), we are now able to initiate counseling without an in-person visit or face to face contact. We have transitioned our intake paperwork to a completely digital, HIPPA compliant process. This allows you to establish as a new patient and begin counseling (in the majority of situations) at our earliest available appointment. Normally this would require at least one in-person visit or session.

By working closely with our insurance and EAP providers to navigate the rapidly changing local and federal regulations, we have been able to continue to deliver and expand our scope of care in this unprecedented time of crisis.

We have advanced forward at a rapid pace only because we have come together as a community to address public health concerns. We hope that after we have moved through this current crisis, we can continue to provide this higher level of outcome-driven approach to care. As the situation continues to develop, the coming weeks and months will be challenging, at best. We are doing everything we can to continue to provide care for our current patients and any and all new patients seeking care that we are able to help. As we strive to advance our processes to deliver care to existing and new patients, we ask for understanding as we aggressively navigate this rapidly changing and evolving environment of care.

Your Mental Health Tip

When speaking to another person, a simple means of demonstrating commitment in a difference is best shown by first stating what it is you wish or want, then asking the other person what they wish or want, and then reaming open to options toward a solution.
